Our fifth race of season 2018. at the Red Bull Ring has started with Fridays practice sessions and today’s Qualifying sessions.  Most of the day the rain was covering this fabulous race track so riders had a tough work to do. Rain is something that you like or don’t like at all.

So who was the rain master at Red Bull Ring at Saturday?

We could say it was Michal Filla. He took the ninth win of the season. With today’s performance he showed that even this tricky conditions can’t stop him. Dominant win from start till finish and a totally deserved title “the rain master”.

In SSP300 class the first three riders crossed the finish line all in one second gap. Victorious was Samuel Lochoff with only 0.3 sec advantage over Alexandra Pelikanova. The third place went to Taric Van Der Merwe. Girl power Pelikanova was on fire in wet.

STK600/SSP

Full grid of riders with joined classes in this wet race conditions meant one thing. Everything is possible. Jiri Mrkyvka took an early lead and he never looked back. During the race Pawel Szkopek and Gergo Molnar tried to gap Jiri Mrkyvka’s lead but he responded and went first over the finish line. So Jiri took the win in STK600 class in front of Pawel Szkopek and Alen Gyorfi.

In SSP class Gergo Molnar took the win in front of Martin Vugrinec and Oliver Konig.

STK1000

As we said before, Filla took a fabulous win in STK1000 class. Second was Dominik Juda, third Kamil Krzemien

SBK

Strongest class in our field SBK was red flagged few laps before the end. Oil on track stopped the show with few riders crashing. Unfortunately for the fans because the group that crashed was fighting for the last spot on the podium. Karel Hanika was unstoppable today. He took an early lead and never looked back. The second place went to Thomas Berghamer, third was Ondrej Jezek.

Today is a new day, looks like rain is on the menu again so stay tuned and follow all the action through our live stream of the races and on our Facebook page Lutec Racing.
